Flock is fascinating because it's a material that can be applied to all sorts of surfaces, whether they're woven, velvety, or brushed. Flocking in decoration is not new. Similar methods, such as attaching yarn dust to adhesive surfaces, were used in the Middle Ages. With the development of technology in the 1970s, flocking became popular in the 1980s and early 90s. At a time when very few people were aware of the texture of velvet and suede, a few people began to use flocking in printing. In the last few years, the areas of application for flocking have developed and increased.
