WHAT IS FLOCKING?

Flocking involves applying short, single-yarn fibers onto different substrates. Nylon, polyester, and rayon are commonly used. The diameter of a single flock is only a few thousandths of a centimeter. The length varies between 0.3-5 mm.

Furthermore, all fibers must have the same elasticity and permeability. Special tools are used in the application. These tools electrically charge the flocks, ensuring that the flock particles remain upright. They are then fixed at the correct angles. The application is both permanent and durable. Flock can be applied to glass, metal, plastic, paper, or fabric. In decorative applications, flock is used on many products such as clothing, greeting cards, promotional materials, toys, book covers, and upholstery fabrics.

APPLICATION METHODS

In decorative flocking, one of these three application methods is used;

*elektrostatik
*spreyleme
*transfer

Electroplating is probably the most effective flocculation method.
